Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Education, including experience in special education or with students who have developmental and medical complexities.
• Curriculum Development skills, with the ability to design, adapt, and evaluate instructional materials and programs for diverse learning needs.
• Excellent Communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, families, and external partners, and to provide clear guidance and feedback.
• Proven Educational Leadership capabilities, including supervision, coaching, and support of instructional staff, and leadership in school-wide initiatives.
• Commitment to high-quality Customer Service, reflecting respect, empathy, and responsiveness to students, families, and team members.
• Experience with Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs for students with medically complex developmental disabilities, ensuring alignment with standards and IEPs.
• Guide educators in best practices, coach and mentor instructional staff, observe classroom instruction, and provide feedback to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapeutic and functional life skills into academic curricula, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Coordinate professional development, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment reflective of Matheny’s mission.
