DreamBox has always been designed by experienced classroom teachers who work side-by-side with talented programmers, game designers, and artists to create transformative digital lessons so that students can understand concepts in ways that aren’t possible without a digital environment.

In This Role You Will:

  1. From initial brainstorming through refinements and improvements, design engaging, pedagogically sound student-driven lessons and experiences using innovative manipulatives, games, scaffolding, and learning pathways.
  2. Create lessons, curriculum, and experiences that align with DreamBox learning design principles and demonstrably improve student understanding, achievement, engagement, and confidence in math.
  3. Partner with Product Management to write requirements for UX/UI designers and developers.
  4. Attend scrum team meetings to ensure development meets curricular requirements.
  5. Review competitor products and industry trends to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  6. Align and map state/regional standards and print resources to help teachers easily find concepts in the DreamBox curriculum and enable differentiation for students.
  7. Provide competent, expert learning insights for Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Client Success, and Professional Development.

Core Competencies for Success:

  1. Understanding of how to drive motivation and engagement with students in grades three through five.
  2. Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  3. Experience using educational technology according to effective and research-based principles of learning.
  4. Able to proactively assess, clarify and validate student/customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  5. Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with internal teams, third-party partners, and customers.

Credentials and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s in Education required, Master’s degree a plus.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of full-time, successful math teaching experience in a 3rd – 5th grade classroom.
  3. National Board Certification preferred.
  4. Some experience with digital learning design preferred.
  5. Role may include up to 4 classroom visits per year.
