Job summary

Houston Community College (HCC) seeks a Curriculum Specialist for the Northline Campus to develop and maintain curricula and degree plans. You will document educational and career and technical courses, and assist in creating program materials.

Responsibilities include coordinating curriculum reviews, aligning with industry needs, and preparing instructional resources. A Texas driver license is required, with strong MS Office and data management skills providing essential support.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required in a related field.
  • 3 years of related work experience required.
  • Valid Texas Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to councils and committees involved in curriculum development.
  • Stay informed of industry needs and trends to align curriculum with area needs.
  • May assist with degree audit as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain manuals and handbooks detailing required format, procedures, and timelines as resource information.
  • Monitor curricula requests for new programs or program revisions for accuracy; submit all program information to the assigned agency.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of new curriculum.
  • Coordinate the review/assessment of current curriculum to ensure objectives and funding requirements are met.
  • Monitor Program/Course descriptions and program files electronically for currency; submit revisions to PeopleSoft.
  • Assist in preparing instructional materials and proofread/prepare course descriptions and degree plans.
  • Use web applications and appropriate technology to perform all tasks.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
