CURA - HUP Communication and Event Coordinator

About The Job

This is a 50% time (20 hours per week, totaling 260 hours for the summer semester from 5/26/25 to 8/24/25) Research Specialist position.

The Hennepin-University Partnership (HUP) Research Specialist will collaborate with the Program Director and Senior Project Manager to implement strategies outlined in HUP’s 2025 Communications Plan.

Principal Duties
  • Prioritize and execute key strategies from HUP’s 2025 Communications Plan.
  • Establish measurable goals to assess progress for each communication channel.
  • Oversee general communications, ensuring alignment with HUP’s vision and mission.
  • Maintain and update public-facing websites and materials.
  • Assist in producing PR materials, such as infographics and data snapshots.
  • Support and mentor HUP student communications assistants.
Qualifications
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in developing communication and promotion strategies for HUP.
  • Design skills for infographics, newsletters, etc.
  • Experience with university-government partnerships.
  • Ability to track metrics and improve communication performance.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Initiative and follow-through on tasks.
Preferred Skills
  • Project management experience, especially supporting communication plans.
  • Knowledge of organizational communication strategies and tactics.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly rate: $27.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Retirement options available.
