Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated production operator to maintain and monitor paper cup machines on site. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include initiating and stopping machines, following 5S practices, participating in safety initiatives, and communicating across shifts to ensure consistent production and compliance with food safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical background and skill to perform technical tasks.
  • Able to use hand tools properly and safely.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Must be self-motivated, and able to work well with all levels of personnel, individually or in a team environment, and take direction from others to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operation of paper cup machines producing paper cups.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Be engaged, involved, and participate in department safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Ensure equipment meets safety standards, monitoring throughout the shift.
  • Observe, mitigate and/or report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Follow all proper ZES/IES requirements when working on equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, group leader, peers, other employees, and oncoming shift.
  • Promote and demonstrate a positive work environment.
  • Attend and participate in daily team production meetings.
  • Assist in production of product consistent with established food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • Maintain 5S in work area.
  • Complete shut-down and start-up procedures on PMC finishers, baggers, and CE’s.
  • Load blanks on paper cup finishers.
  • Operate ergo tug to move blank carts when retrieving and returning blank carts.
  • Relieve cup packers during break and lunch periods.
  • Assist material handler and padlocker operator, as required.
  • Help maintain bottom stock ink jet printers.
  • Stop, start, and monitor operation of machines.
  • Perform quality checks on product.
