Job summary

Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s HHS – Behavioral Health in Tukwila, WA is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to provide individual, family, and group counseling using strengths-based, culturally responsive modalities that align with our mission and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or closely related field; WA licensure (LCSW/LMHC/LMFT/PsyD); 3 years of behavioral health experience (2 years with youth); and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
• Licensed to provide mental health services in Washington (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, PsyD) with possible associate licensure.
• 3 years’ experience providing behavioral health services; 2 years with youth.
• Background check and pre-employment screenings required.
• Experience working with American Indian and/or Alaska Native communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive diagnostic assessments using a variety of instruments to determine diagnosis and needs.
• Determines level of care and develops individualized treatment plans.
• Conducts individual and group therapy sessions.
• Coordinates care with referral sources, families, and other organizations.
• Maintains confidentiality and documents accurately in EHR.
• Collaborates with clinical team to staff cases and review progress.
• Provides culturally responsive education and relapse prevention planning.
