New South Associates, Inc. is seeking a GIS Specialist to produce maps, manage project spatial data, and support field data collection for archaeological and cultural resource projects in the southeastern U.S.

You will apply ArcGIS Pro and related Esri tools to create cartographic outputs, maintain geodatabases, and configure Field Maps and Survey123 for field workflows, collaborating with archaeologists, historians, and other specialists on team-driven deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Anthropology, Archaeology, Environmental Science, History, Planning, or a related field.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and Esri geospatial tools.
• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate cartographic products for reports and client deliverables.

Responsabilités

• Prepare maps, figures, and exhibits for technical reports and client deliverables using templates and cartographic standards.
• Compile, organize, and validate spatial datasets; maintain project geodatabases and metadata.
• Apply ArcGIS Pro data management, spatial analysis, symbology, and labeling tools.
• Digitize features from survey plans and georeference historic maps and imagery.
• Configure field data collection apps (ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123) and process RTK survey data.
• Update and manage project data in ArcGIS Online and run Esri notebooks.
• Check GIS products for spatial accuracy and collaborate in peer review.
• Communicate technical findings and data limitations to project teams.
• Estimate effort, track time, and flag schedule/budget impacts.
• Protect sensitive cultural resource information and follow data access standards.
