The Mittleman Jewish Community Center in Portland, OR seeks a part-time Cultural Programs Associate to curate vibrant Jewish arts and culture events. You will bridge internal teams, community committees, and external partners to celebrate heritage and foster intergenerational connections.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in event planning or community programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with group facilitation.
• Experience navigating CRM/databases and digital registration platforms.
• Proficient with AV equipment.
• Ability to balance multiple events within 15-20 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Curate Cultural Content: Conceptualize, plan, and deliver a diverse annual calendar of arts and culture events grounded in Jewish tradition.
• Youth + Family Collaboration: Design and run engaging Jewish holiday celebrations with Youth Programs Manager.
• Program Administration + Support: Provide logistical support for MJCC events and programs.
• On-Site Event Hosting: Serve as host and point of contact during live events and committee gatherings.
• Committee + Coalition Building: Recruit and lead volunteer committees for diverse representation.
• Partnership Development: Build relationships with artists, cultural organizations and partners.
• System Operations + Ticketing: Create event entries and manage ticketing using registration platforms.
• Data + Reporting: Maintain records, track attendance, and analyze metrics.
• Marketing Collaboration: Support marketing with event descriptions and outreach calendars.
• Grant + Funding Support: Assist in drafting grant proposals and reporting.
