Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Cultural/Linguistic Support Specialist in the Tampa area to advise on Iranian culture and regional dynamics, translate and analyze materials, and support operational planning with cultural insights. Requires TS/SCI clearance and extensive experience with US military or USG operations.

Must have strong English and Farsi/Dari/Pashto/Arabic language scores, proficiency with MS Office, and willingness to deploy for extended schedules.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance required.
• Journeyman: 3–10+ years providing cultural/linguistic support to US military ops or USG.
• Senior: 10+ years providing cultural/linguistic support to US military ops or USG.
• Minimum language testing scores: 4/4/4 or higher in English and Farsi, Dari, Pashto, or Arabic, depending on location.
• Demonstrated expertise in Iranian culture, politics, regime influence, social media, religious groups, ethnic groups, and regional dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support operational planners on Iranian culture, politics, social media, regime influence, religious groups, ethnic groups, and influential voices.
• Support Operations in the Information Environment and Irregular Warfare planning and execution through content development.
• Assess cultural resonance, linguistic nuance, symbolism, and potential operational risk.
• Translate, interpret, transcribe, and analyze oral and written materials, reports, data, briefings, media, conversations, collected information, and intelligence.
• Advise on population characteristics, demographics, and behavioral drivers for target audience analysis.
• Integrate cultural insights into operational assessments and help refine operations.
• Support key leader engagement.
• Research source-language materials and produce command-level planning products.
• Monitor and analyze traditional, digital, and social media for trends, behaviors, events, developments, local geopolitics, foreign media narratives, and influence activities.
• Produce synopsis reports and assessments.
• Analyze key actors and relationships and interpret informal influence structures.
• Identify culturally credible pathways and opportunities supporting operational and campaign planning

• Demonstrated expertise in Iranian culture, politics, regime influence, social media, religious groups, ethnic groups, and regional dynamics
• Valid U.S. passport with at least one year remaining before expiration
• Ability to brief and present to small and large groups
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work in a deployed environment and support extended or shift-based schedules
• Desired: Demonstrated experience supporting OIE/IO, PSYOP, IW, SOF, or related operational activities or units
• Desired: Recent regional experience, residence, or travel
• Desired: 5 years of experience working with USCENTCOM, interagency, coalition, or deployed military teams
