Job summary

Live Parallel is hiring Cultivation Technicians for our new Gainesville facility. The role supports all cultivation operations, plant care, R&D activities, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on safety and meticulous data recording.

The position offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing cannabis company and room to develop within a expanding operations team. Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with a rotating 4‑day work week schedule (5:00 AM to 3:30 PM).

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform measurements, calculations, and accurately record data.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily cultivation activities across plant lifecycle including propagation, vegetative growth, flowering and harvest.
  • Assist with transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing and IPM practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in cultivation areas and equipment.
  • Safely operate cultivation equipment and systems.
  • Participate in cultivation trials and experiments to improve health, yield, and efficiency.
  • Document cultivation data and observations accurately.
  • Harvest and process cannabis flower while maintaining strain integrity.
  • Monitor drying rooms and environmental conditions to ensure product quality.
  • Weigh, record, and track harvest yields and production metrics.
  • Assist with inventory management and waste tracking procedures.
  • Maintain records of cultivation activities, inventory movements, harvests and treatments.
  • Follow state regulations and seed‑to‑sale tracking requirements.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards and best practices.

Position Summary

The Cultivation Technician operates under the direction of the cultivation leadership team and plays a key role in supporting all aspects of cultivation operations. This is an entry-level, hands‑on position responsible for assisting with plant care, propagation, harvesting, sanitation, research and development activities, and regulatory compliance. Successful candidates are team‑oriented, detail‑focused, and ready to contribute to a high‑performing cultivation environment. This role will be supporting our Surterra Wellness operations in Florida.

What You’ll Do
Plant Care & Cultivation Support
  • Support daily cultivation activities throughout all stages of the plant lifecycle, including propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, and harvest.
  • Assist with transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
  • Help maintain optimal environmental conditions for plant health and productivity.
  • Take cuttings from mother plants and assist with cloning and propagation processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout cultivation areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Safely operate cultivation equipment and systems, including irrigation and trimming equipment.
  • Assist with general labor tasks as needed to support facility operations.
Research & Development
  • Participate in cultivation trials and experiments designed to improve plant health, yield, and operational efficiency.
  • Collect and accurately document cultivation data and observations.
  • Support ongoing R&D projects by monitoring plant performance and maintaining detailed records.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Harvest mature plants according to production schedules and compliance requirements.
  • Trim, process, and package cannabis flower while maintaining strain integrity.
  • Monitor drying rooms and environmental conditions to support product quality.
  • Weigh, record, and track harvest yields and production metrics.
  • Assist with inventory management and waste tracking procedures.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of cultivation activities, inventory movements, harvests, and treatments.
  • Follow all state regulations, company policies, and seed‑to‑sale tracking requirements.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards and best cultivation practices.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months or more of agricultural, greenhouse, horticulture, nursery, or cultivation experience
  • Previous experience working in a regulated production environment
  • Passion for plant science and commercial cultivation
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and cooler temperatures
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Ability to climb ladders and work safely around cultivation equipment
  • Comfortable working in an environment with exposure to plant materials, pollen, dust, odors, fertilizers, and varying indoor climate conditions
