Job summary

710 Labs in Michigan is seeking a Cultivation Technician to join a hands-on team focused on high-quality, small-batch cannabis. You will learn cultivar-specific growth, manage trellis structures, apply bio stimulants and pesticides, monitor nutrition and environmental conditions, and ensure sanitation and biosecurity across flowering rooms.

The role demands attention to detail and the ability to work at a steady pace under cultivation lights, with full PPE usage and adherence to METRC tagging

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is observant with prior experience in cannabis cultivation.
• Must be familiar with pruning techniques, different cultivars, pesticides/biostimulants, and fertigation.

Responsibilities

• Apply trellis netting and train branches for a uniform canopy.
• Mix and apply bio stimulants/pesticides via foliar sprays and drenches.
• Prune flowering plants according to cultivar.
• Mix and deliver nutrients.
• Measure EC and pH of nutrient solution and runoff.
• Fill flowering rooms with vegetative plants.
• Check environmental monitoring system and report outliers.
• Affix METRC tags to plants.
• Follow biosecurity and sanitation protocols.
• Scout for pests and pathogens and report findings.
• Work at a fast pace under warm cultivation lights.
• Wear PPE as required when handling chemicals.

The ideal candidate is observant with prior experience in cannabis cultivation. They must be familiar with pruning techniques, different cultivars, pesticides/biostimulants, and fertigation. The Cultivation Technician will be reporting to the Cultivation Lead/Manager for daily tasks.

Cultivation Technicians will be required to learn how different cultivars/strains grow, and how to identify a variety of pests/pathogens. This is a labor-intensive position that requires attention to detail, self-accountability, and good critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Applying trellis netting, training/manipulating branches to achieve a uniform canopy
• Mixing and applying bio stimulants/pesticides via foliar sprays and drenches
• Pruning flowering plants according to cultivar
• Mixing and delivering nutrients
• Measuring the EC and pH of nutrient solution and runoff
• Filling flowering rooms with vegetative plants
• Checking environmental monitoring system and reporting any outliers
• Affixing METRC tags to individual plants
• Following strict biosecurity protocols, maintaining sanitation of tools and person
• Scouting for and reporting any pests and pathogens (powdery mildew, botrytis)
• Working at a fast pace under warm cultivation lights - flowering rooms average 73+ degrees
• Standing/squatting/bending with arms extended for long periods of time
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including a Full Face Respirator and Coverall Suit when handling various chemicals and pesticides
• Any other task assigned by the Cultivation Lead, Cultivation Supervisor, or Director of Cultivation.
