Job summary

Farm & Home Hardware, a cannabis industry client in Smyrna, DE, seeks a Cultivation Associate to support daily plant care from propagation to harvest under SOPs. This is a hands-on role with growth in a compliant operation.

Ideal candidates have a horticulture degree or 2 years cultivation experience, knowledge of cannabis cultivation basics, and ability to work 8-hour shifts including weekends. Salary is $19.50/hr with required background check and 21+ age.

Qualifications

• Degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, Plant Biology, or related field, or at least 2 years of hands-on plant cultivation experience.
• Farming experience preferred.
• Knowledge of large-scale cannabis cultivation — nutrients, media, lighting, temperature control, and airflow.
• Experience with compliance/tracking systems.
• Advanced knowledge of cannabis plants and genetics.
• Proactive, accountable attitude with consistent attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Working knowledge of applicable cannabis laws and SOPs.
• Ability to work independently throughout the day per instructions.
• Comfort with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
• Ability to work effectively with coworkers, management, customers, and inspectors.
• Must pass background and drug screening.
• Must be 21+.
• Badge to work in cannabis may take 2–3 weeks for approval.

Responsibilities

• Daily plant care and adherence to SOPs throughout lifecycle.
• Roll out cultivation operations with expanding responsibilities.
• Daily plant work in flower rooms, data entry, and room prep.
• Weekly tasks: cleaning, flipping blocks, consolidating trays, watering.
• Monthly duties: harvesting, IPM, inventory counts, safety meetings, cloning, rotating mother plants.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and GMP/GACP guidelines.
• Take on additional duties as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Complete assigned work each shift and support the management team in keeping cultivation duties on track and consistent with company SOPs
• Start with essential cultivation operations, with responsibilities that expand as you gain experience
• Daily: plant work including big-leaf and bottom stripping in flower rooms, seed-to-sale data entry, sweeping and disinfecting flower/vegetative rooms, disposing of used growing media, prepping rooms for refill, and general cleaning
• Weekly: spot cleaning, flipping flower blocks, consolidating vegetative trays, planting coco cubes, watering, and light maintenance
• Monthly: harvesting and big-leafing, applying predatory insects, hanging sticky cards for IPM monitoring, assisting with on-hand inventory counts and safety meetings, taking clones, and rotating mother plants
• Follow all operational guidelines, safety, security, and sanitation procedures, and SOPs as trained
• Understand and follow GACP/GMP guidelines throughout the facility
• Take on other duties as needed and qualified

What You’ll Bring
