About the Role:
Fine Fettle is seeking a dynamic Cultivation Manager with proven experience in commercial cannabis cultivation to lead our cutting-edge, 118,000 square foot production facility in Macon, GA. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of cannabis production, resolve plant health issues, and collaborate with facility personnel to ensure smooth operations. You will also maintain strict adherence to the harvest schedule and uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation within the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of cultivation best practices, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant working environment.
Primary Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:
- Oversee the daily operations of an indoor cannabis cultivation facility, including the planting, maintenance, trimming, and harvesting of crops.
- Implement the cultivation plan and assign duties to cultivation personnel.
- Manage and maintain a set harvest schedule, cloning schedule, and rotation of growth stages.
- Implement, train and update Standard Operating Procedures for the cultivation department.
- Hire, onboard and train new cultivation staff.
- Schedule cultivation labor based on a set workload and harvest schedule.
- Create and manage a consistent Integrated Pest Management plan.
- Handle, mix, and apply pesticides in a manner that is compliant with ALL rules and regulations.
- Identify and resolve potential threats to crop yields, using proven pest scouting techniques.
- Ensure that the cannabis plant's growth requirements, such as lighting, soil PH, and nutrients, are consistently met.
- Manage the inventory of the facilities cannabis production, such as tools, materials, equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all cultivation activities and inventory.
- Ensure equipment is operating efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Ensure the farm complies with ALL state cannabis policies and cultivation procedures.
- Duties include placing, trellising, weaving, super cropping and or topping, defoliating and harvesting plants.
- Experience and understanding of Crop-Steering.
- Ensure feeds are planned, optimized, and adjusted depending on strain-specific requirements and needs using an automated drip system.
- Responsible for maintaining the cultivation areas and cleanliness of the facility.
- Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and implement effective solutions, including working outside of normal scheduled hours when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working at, and managing, a large legal cannabis cultivation facility.
- Experience working with Argus, Priva or similar software.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a management position.
- Excellent knowledge of indoor and LED cultivation methods.
- Knowledge of growing facility HVAC, Equipment, Layout/Design and familiarity with lighting technologies and light optimization.
- Experience managing water usage and automated irrigation control as well as knowledge of basic plumbing and water storage.
- Competency with technology; Must be able to use computers/smartphones, and applications like Google Docs, Excel, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 Pounds consistently, and must be able to bend, squat, reach, kneel, walk, etc.
- Ability to pass a Federal Background Check with no felony convictions.
- A solution-driven attitude, good analytical skills, and great attention-to-detail.
- Familiarity with state and federal cannabis laws and a willingness to spend time researching regulations and building expertise.
- A willingness to s tay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in cannabis cultivation.
- Familiarity with the financial aspects of the cannabis industry, and ability to provide input on purchasing and profitability matters.
- Familiarity with harvesting and post-harvest activities like Drying, Curing, Trimming, Packaging, etc.
- Willingness to be the one doing the work, not just directing others.
