Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare food for residents and guests in our living communities. You will follow menus, recipes, and planned events, ensuring proper portioning and garnishing, while supporting fellow kitchen staff and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent with at least three years of line cook experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• Minimum three years of line cook experience and/or training.
• Good communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
• Prepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipes.
• Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding shortages or outages.
• Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served.
• Stock and clean station for next shift.
• Follow proper food rotation policies.
• Present a professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag.
