Job summary

Gallaher Signature Living is seeking a skilled Cook in Santa Rosa, CA to deliver a refined, hospitality-driven dining experience for residents, guests, and staff. You will prepare and present high-quality meals following approved menus, standardized recipes, and applicable regulations including California Title 22.

Responsibilities include preparing a variety of dishes, assisting with special events, and ensuring food safety, sanitation, and portion control.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a cook in hospitality or food service is a plus.
• Ability to operate standard commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work with older adults respectfully and patiently.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to obtain Food Handler’s certification, First Aid, and CPR as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items per established recipes and standards.
• Assist with special meals, events, and community functions.
• Prepare soups, entrees, vegetables, sides, and desserts incl. modified diets.
• Ensure meals meet dietary guidelines and quality expectations.
• Coordinate food production timing with service schedules.
• Maintain sanitation and safety per regulations and company policy.
• Label, date, store, rotate, and inventory foods.
• Monitor temperatures of coolers and freezers.
• Keep kitchen and storage areas clean and inspection-ready.
• Participate in trainings and team stand-ups.
