VetJobs is seeking a kitchen/food service helper in Kansas City, MO to support City Union Mission's meals for shelter guests, staff and volunteers. The role requires morning and afternoon shifts (6am-2pm and 10:30am-6:30pm) and adherence to health standards while assisting with meal prep and daily operations.

Ideal candidates will have a High School or GED and demonstrate a mature Christian lifestyle aligned with the City's mission, with willingness to work as part of a team and support ministry

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Be a born-again, mature Christian and able to clearly communicate the Gospel when opportunities arise during the workday.

Responsabilités

• Maintain Health Department standards for kitchen cleanliness at all times.
• Follow weekly kitchen menus and seek approval before changes.
• Prepare sack lunches daily.
• Practice strict food safety and discard spoiled foods.
• Collaborate with kitchen, warehouse and shelter staff; host volunteers.
• Supervise cleanup by shelter guests or volunteers.
• Report issues to the Food Service Administrator with documentation.
• Possibly work holidays as required.
• Track meal counts and record food donations.
• Open/close kitchens as scheduling requires.
