Job summary

Oklahoma State Government is hiring a Food Service Specialist to prepare and serve meals for various diets in a state facility. The role entails maintaining sanitary work areas, following diet orders, and delivering meals and supplies.

The position requires basic food preparation knowledge and ability to work with standard kitchen equipment. This is a full/part-time role with an evening shift (10:30am to 7:00pm).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques
• Knowledge of food service operations and sanitation practices
• Ability to carry out routine tasks and follow instructions
• Proficiency in English to perform essential functions

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods, salads, and desserts as directed.
• Supply unit with meat, poultry or fish as ordered and cut/prep items.
• Clean and prep foods using knives, slicers, peelers, ovens and steamers; follow diet orders.
• Operate dishwasher and clean pots, pans, dishes and utensils.
• Remove refuse; sweep, mop and scrub kitchen, dining and storage areas.
• Label, load and deliver food carts or trays; collect trays after use.
• Defrost and clean refrigerators and walk-in coolers; maintain equipment.
• Operate state vehicles as required; perform related duties as assigned.
