Job summary

Avamere in Medford, Oregon, is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare meals for residents under the supervision of the Culinary Services Manager. You will help manage inventory, follow therapeutic diet practices, and maintain food service policies and safety procedures.

The role requires attention to detail, a valid Food Handlers card, and CPR/BLS certification. Prior institutional food prep experience is preferred; opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail in reading recipes and production sheets.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
• Active CPR/BLS Certification maintained during employment.
• Experience in quantity food preparation and knowledge of sanitation standards.
• Experience in institutional food preparation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and follow recipes for food preparation.
• Manage purchased food and dietary supplies to control waste.
• Maintain portion control and ensure proper serving temperatures.
• Inspect special diet trays for accuracy.
• Maintain food storage and assist in receiving supplies.
• Assist in establishing production lines to ensure timely meals.
• Orient and coach staff on sanitation, safety, and equipment use.
