Job summary

Gunnison Valley Health in Gunnison, CO seeks a dedicated cook to support the Culinary Director by preparing high-quality meals for patients and staff.

The role requires a High School diploma, 2 years in high-volume food prep, Safe-Serve management certification (or willingness to enroll in HACCP), and a Colorado driver’s license with six months to obtain it. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

  • Experience: Minimum of two years in high volume food preparation, or equivalent training.
  • Licenses/Certification: Safe-Serve manager certification, or willingness to enroll in HACCP training, required. Must be eligible for a Colorado Driver's License; valid Colorado Driver's License required within six (6) months of employment and maintained current thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Culinary Director with preparation of meals served in a high quality manner the reflect positively on the department and facility.
  • Serve meals and snacks in a timely manner
  • Assist with required documentation
  • Help with menu planning in order to promote food quality and variety
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels, as well as rotation and cleanliness of storage areas
  • Improve professional knowledge and competence by attending educational opportunities requested by Culinary director
  • Help to train new employees
  • Evaluate menu items to ensure proper quantities are served in accordance with requirements

Requirements:

Status – FT

Compensation: $18.00 - $23.40/hr, depending on experience.
