Job summary

The Wellington at Arapaho, part of Sonida Senior Living, is seeking a Culinary Services Cook in Richardson, TX. The role involves planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals in a sanitary, organized manner to residents of an independent living and assisted living community.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and a Food Service Sanitation Certificate. Supervisory experience and the ability to read recipes, work in a team, and communicate effectively are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience in volume meal preparation for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred; ability to read recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.
