Job summary

Buckner Retirement Services is seeking a Culinary Server for Ventana by Buckner in Dallas, TX. This full-time onsite role involves food preparation support, serving residents, and maintaining dining areas to Buckner quality standards.

You will assist with beverages, table service, and kitchen sanitation while following safety guidelines and resident-centered service. Join a nonprofit leader in senior living with a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and understand English business documents.
• Able to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and coworkers.
• Able to move equipment up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently.
• Must stand or walk for the majority of the shift.
• Ability to follow basic written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set tables; bus tables, wash off tables after meals.
• Prepare beverages and food as required.
• Serve food in dining rooms or other areas as required.
• Serve beverages to residents as required.
• Blend food in electric blender; prepare steam table.
• Prepare hot cart and serve food; clean and sanitize carts.
• Wash dishes; scrape and rack dishes; sort, stack, store clean dishes.
• Mop, sweep, and clean work area.
• Take out trash.
• Wrap silverware.

Job Schedule: Full-Time, This is split shift. 4 days on, 2 days off rotation. 2 days are 6a to 1p and 2 days are 1p to 7p.

We are seeking a Culinary Server to join our community committed to delivering outstanding service to our residents. As a Culinary Server, you will play an important role in all phases of food preparation that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

• Set tables; bus tables, wash off tables after meals.

What you'll bring:

• Requires ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.

• Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others.
• Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
• Requires ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
• Requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, walk over 75% of shift.
• Requires ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operation problems or safety concerns.
