Job summary

Buckner Retirement Services Community: Ventana by Buckner in Dallas, TX seeks a Culinary Server to join our team and deliver exceptional dining experiences to residents.

You’ll perform food preparation support, serve meals, beverages, and maintain a clean dining environment while following Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. This full-time role operates on a 4 on/2 off rotation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand English business documents.
• Ability to communicate verbally with residents and co-workers.
• Ability to move food service equipment up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend and perform physical tasks for most of shift.

Responsibilities

• Set tables; bus tables and wash tables after meals.
• Prepare beverages and food as required.
• Serve meals in dining rooms or other areas.
• Serve beverages to residents.
• Blend food in blender; operate steam table.
• Prepare hot cart and serve food; clean/ sanitize carts.
• Wash dishes; rack and store clean dishes.
• Mop, sweep, and clean work area.
• Take out trash and wrap silverware.

Buckner Retirement Services Community: Ventana by Buckner Location: Dallas, TX - Onsite Address: 8301 N Central Expy, Dallas, TX 75225 Job Schedule: Full-Time, This is split shift. 4 days on, 2 days off rotation. 2 days are 6a to 1p and 2 days are 1p to 7p.

We are seeking a Culinary Server to join our community committed to delivering outstanding service to our residents. As a Culinary Server, you will play a n important role in all phases of food preparation that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you’ll do

• Set tables; bus tables, wash off tables after meals.
• Responsible for preparing beverages and food as required.
• Serve food in dining rooms or other areas as required.
• Serve beverages to residents as required.
• Blend food in electric blender; prepare steam table.
• Prepare hot cart and serve food; clean and sanitize carts.
• Wash dishes; scrape and rack dishes; sort, stack, store clean dishes.
• Mop, sweep, and clean work area.
• Take out trash.
• Wrap silverware.

What you ’ll bring

• Requires ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.
• Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.
• Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others.
• Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
• Requires ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
• Requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, walk over 75% of shift.
• Requires ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operation problems or safety concerns.
