Job summary

Morrison Living, a member of Compass Group USA, is seeking a Production Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate production staff in a senior living community, ensuring food is prepared and delivered efficiently and on time.

You will develop production schedules, manage portioning, inventory, and payroll, uphold food safety standards, and mentor staff to deliver high-quality meals while controlling costs. This role suits leaders who thrive in high-volume hospitality environments.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Food Services or related field, or A.A. degree with 4 years related experience.
• 2–4 years retirement or adult home/care experience preferred.
• Inventory and purchasing knowledge.
• Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
• Excellent customer service skills and experience.
• P&L accountability desired.
• Contract-managed service experience desirable.
• High-volume food production background desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate production staff to prepare and deliver food efficiently.
• Ensure proper portioning and adherence to master cycle menu.
• Order and receive food and nonfood items.
• Verify daily/weekly production schedules are followed.
• Monitor staff payroll and records.

• Lead quality meetings and uphold standards.

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the activities of production employees in order to prepare and deliver food to the serving areas within the senior living community, in an efficient, timely and proper manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Possesses knowledge and understanding of meal requirements
• Ensures proper portioning of foods
• Orders and receives food and nonfood items
• Verifies all items in their proper quantity are prepared for tray line
• Monitors staff completion of daily records
• Verifies and submits payroll
• Manages, trains, and develops staff
• Completes weekly inventory
• Monitors and investigates any overages or shortages
• Writes daily and weekly production schedule using the master cycle menu
• Ensures all tasks on daily production schedule are completed by staff
• Assures standardized recipes are followed
• Participates in food quality meetings
• Verifies food safety records are completed
• Monitors labeling of all items with proper information
• Practices and enforces all federal, state, and local regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.S. Degree in Food Services or related field; or A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related experience preferred
• Minimum of two to four years of retirement or adult home/care experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training
• Inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
• Excellent knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentationa plus
• Excellent customer services skills and experiences
• Experience with P&L accountability highly desirable
• Contract-managed service experience is desirable
• High volume food production background highly desirable
