Job summary

WCTC Corporate Training Center in Pewaukee, WI is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant-Hospitality & Culinary (Casual) to support instructors and students in an open lab and classroom setting. You will assist with supplies, setup equipment, and help with non-instructional tasks according to established procedures.

This role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Business English, grammar, reading, and basic math such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, decimals, and percent.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to work effectively with students, instructors, and other staff.
• Ability to learn, understand, and follow written and oral instructions and routine procedures.
• Aptitude for organization and detail to maintain and file records.
• Ability to type at least 35 WPM to type routine materials such as forms, envelopes, file labels, etc.
• Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of audio-visual and instructional equipment.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Instructor with individualized instruction of students, including distributing supplies and guiding use of materials.
• Set up and demonstrate equipment and explain lab rules to students.
• Assist students one-on-one with assignments and tests as directed.
• Record attendance and grades and maintain files of instructional materials.
• Maintain lab by obtaining equipment, restocking supplies, and scheduling maintenance.
