Job summary

Kellogg Center is offering a level 2 culinary internship intended to provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will engage across all kitchen operations for events, help mentor MSU student staff, and uphold health and safety standards while delivering excellent customer service.

The role emphasizes leadership, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, with an hourly wage of $18 and minimum 20 hours per week, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation
• Assist in food preservation and presentation to guests
• Learn and apply health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Basis dish supervision
• Storing food properly and comply with health regulations
• Assist with inventory control and ensure timely deliveries
• Rotate through all kitchen areas to gain exposure
• Oversee MSU student staff to ensure excellent customer service
• Ensure all team members meet health and safety regulations
• Provide training and guidance to new staff members
• Monitor performance and give feedback
• Ensure service standards and policies are followed
• Provide leadership and motivate the team to maintain a positive environment
