Job summary

The Phoenix at Opelika is seeking a Food and Beverage Director to lead the dining operations of the community, reporting to the Executive Director. You will oversee procurement, preparation, service, budgeting, and staff supervision to ensure high-quality meals and wellness-oriented programming.

The role requires leadership experience in a dining or culinary setting, knowledge of nutrition and sanitation, and a commitment to resident care and regulatory compliance. Based in Opelika, AL.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a culinary institute is preferred.
• Possess current Food Services Sanitation Certificate.
• Knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
• 2-3 years' experience as a chef/cook.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to direct others.
• Assisted Living industry knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management of dining operations in the community.
• Oversee procurement, food/dining preparation and service per Phoenix menu program.
• Manage financials and budgets for food and dining services.
• Monitor labor costs, supervise and train dining staff.
• Ensure safe food handling, sanitation of service areas, and compliance.
• Maintain records, inventory, and rotation of products.
• Ensure meals meet Phoenix standards and are served on time.
• Collaborate on menu creation for professional and community events.
