Job summary

Helia Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Culinary Associate to prepare meals and snacks for residents in a nursing home setting. The role requires following menus, recipes and dietary guidelines while maintaining sanitary foodservice operations.

The position emphasizes high-quality meal preparation, adherence to nutrition and safety standards, and collaboration with the Culinary Services Director to meet residents’ dietary needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Food Services Sanitation certificate and one year of job-related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets.
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• Restaurant, cooking and/or culinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to the menu for the day so residents receive meals that are well-balanced and healthy.
• Follow recipes and guidelines established by the Culinary Services Director.
• Prepare snacks for residents according to schedule and menu to ensure adequate nutrition and hydration.
• Properly clean all equipment and work areas to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.
• Maintain proper temperatures in freezers and refrigerators and document readings.
