Responsibilities & Requirements

The Culinary Associate II:

Performs basic food preparation and service tasks across retail areas, catering, ingredient room, and/or patient Room Service line. Handles food following HACCP principles and applicable food codes. Uses, cleans, and maintains equipment and work areas safely. Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Accurately manages paperwork and processes, including order-taking, food preparation, cash register operations, temperature monitoring, ingredient weighing, Room Service records, tray time documentation, and catering event billing.
  • Adheres to proper hand hygiene procedures, including handwashing and glove use when handling ready-to-eat foods.
  • Utilizes appropriate scripting and responds effectively to patients and internal/external customers, applying the HEAL principle, describing products, knowing ingredients/allergens, and promoting collaboration.
  • Uses equipment safely and performs cleaning and sanitation of coffee brewers, espresso machines, display equipment, grills, fryers, scales, etc.
  • Dates and monitors food items, manages temperature control, and follows FIFO storage procedures per FDA guidelines.
  • Prepares, assembles, serves, cooks, or bakes food and beverages according to recipes and guidelines.
  • Handles cash and manages sales transactions using MyMicros software, maintaining accuracy within ± $2.00, and processes credit and gift card transactions per guidelines.

Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to push and pull wheeled carts.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to tolerate temperature fluctuations and work around heat, steam, and cold equipment.
Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred. Food service or customer service experience preferred.

Hours: 7:30 pm - 12:30 am
