Job summary

Helia Healthcare is seeking a Culinary Associate to prepare meals for residents in a nursing home setting, following the daily menu and dietary guidelines. You will ensure nutrition, balance, and safety across all shifts, with attention to portion control and sanitation.

Responsibilities include following recipes, managing special diets, keeping the kitchen clean, and maintaining proper refrigeration temperatures. Prior kitchen experience and a Food Services Sanitation certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Food Services Sanitation certificate and 1 year related food prep experience.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• Restaurant, cooking and/or culinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to the daily menu to ensure residents receive balanced and healthy meals.
• Follow recipes and guidelines established by the Culinary Services Director.
• Follow requests for special diets to assure resident health.
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen environment and clean equipment.
• Ensure proper refrigeration temperatures and document them.
• Assist in providing residents with seconds and snacks as needed.
