Job summary

The Goodman Group, LLC is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support our dietary function and residents in our community. You will contribute to a pleasant dining experience by assisting with meal preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean dining environment.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, serving, cleaning, and setting up dining areas while following established policies. Food service experience is preferred, and you will work as part of a compassionate, team-focused staff committed

Responsibilities

• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Prepare food for upcoming meal and set up menu.
• Assist with bussing tables during and after meals.
• Check meal trays for accuracy before distribution.
• Ensure equipment and utensils are available with meals.
• Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
• Assist with catering/buffet set up and refill snacks.
• Maintain a clean work area and kitchen.
• Assist in dining area and backroom kitchen cleaning.

The Culinary Assistant plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established Culinary Operations policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Provide Platinum Service® to each resident, guest and staff member.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and the established policies and procedures.
• Assist in daily and scheduled cleaning duties.
• Set up meal trays, food carts and the dining room, as instructed.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Set up and prepare food for the upcoming meal.
• Set up the menu for the upcoming meal.
• Assist with bussing tables during and after meals.
• Check meal trays for accuracy before distribution.
• Ensure appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray.
• Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
• Assist with the set up and refill of catering and/or buffet functions.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.
• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
• Assist in food preparation as requested.
• Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed.
• Assist with cleaning the dining area and the backroom kitchen area as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Critical Skills

• Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
• Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
• Communicate in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.

Education And Experience
