Job summary

You will maintain a professional culinary lab, integrate employability skills, and partner with local restaurants and industry to provide authentic learning experiences for students.

Qualifications

• Applicants must meet NCDPI License Area 716 licensure requirements.
• Candidates must meet education and related work experience via licensure pathway.
• Certification: ANSI-CFP Food Protection Manager before teaching.
• Certification: NCDPI CTE licensure or eligibility for provisional/restricted licensure.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with NCDPI CTE Essential Standards.
• Teach Foods, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, and related FCS courses as assigned.
• Provide hands-on instruction in food preparation, nutrition, baking, menu planning, food safety.
• Integrate academic content, technology, problem-solving, and employability skills into instruction.
• Differentiate instruction and assess student progress using formative and summative assessments.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, credentials, inventory, and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized laboratory environment.
• Teach and enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Collaborate with restaurants, hotels, and industry partners for authentic opportunities.
• Support FCCLA and related student leadership activities.
