Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Cook to join our team. You will prepare a variety of meals, follow recipes and production guidelines, and ensure strict food safety and sanitation standards in a correctional facility setting.

The role emphasizes culinary creativity, teamwork, and delivering quality service to guests and clients while maintaining safety policies. Prior cooking experience is required and the ability to obtain a food safety certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role is required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations (handling, sanitation, storage).
• Must be able to obtain food safety certification.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and recipes.
• Sets up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely uses knives and operates ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses diverse cooking methods.
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food per guidelines.
• Stores food per safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor toward guests and coworkers.
• Follows safety policies and ensures asset security.
