Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah seeks a food service teammate to prepare healthy vegan lunches and assist with catering functions sanctuary-wide for staff, volunteers, founders, and visitors.
This role involves frequent on- and off-site catering, adhering to health codes, and providing friendly guest service during peak lunch hours. Weekend availability and basic computer skills are required.
Location: Kanab, Utah
Hiring Range: This position’s compensation is anticipated to be $15.60 hourly, plus great benefits!
Work Schedule: 7:00am-3:00pm Saturday-Wednesday
Position Summary: Committed to creating and preparing quality, healthy vegan lunches as well as preparing food and working during frequent on and off-site catering functions, workshops and special dinners sanctuary-wide for all employees, volunteers, founders and visitors.

Education: High School diploma or GED. Previous related experience preferable but will train the right person. Outgoing positive personality and communication skills. The ideal person for this job would be a team player, personable, professional, and able to get along well with a wide variety of people. Attention to detail. Ability to consistently meet deadlines. Flexible and enjoys handling a variety of tasks. Demonstrates personal accountability to ensure that all responsibilities are completed effectively and in a timely manner. Accurate, appropriate, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Strong listening skills. Basic computer skills required. Must be able to use email and navigate pdf, word, and excel documents. Also need to be able to complete forms, save, and send as attachments to emails. Able and willing to professionally advocate Best Friends position on issues. Must be willing to cross-train in housekeeping department. Attend training sessions when assigned or requested.
