• Follow food safety and proper handling standards to ensure meals are safe, fresh, and appealing.
• Serve meals at the correct temperature, on schedule, and with care.
• Use standardized recipes and portion control tools for consistency and quality.
• Accurately serving residents according to diet orders and preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and serving areas.
• Wash dishes and maintain sanitation logs for temperatures and sanitizer use.
• Label, date, store, and rotate food properly.
• Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures and report concerns promptly.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Support inventory awareness and minimizing waste.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues.
• Work collaboratively with teammates across departments.
• Create a welcoming, respectful environment for residents, families, and visitors.

What You’ll Do

As a Culinary Aide, you’ll play an important role in our dining services by:

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses/Certification

• Food Handlers Permit or willingness to obtain one, if required per state regulations.
• NOTE: Federal Child Labor Laws do not permit employees younger than 18 years of age to work with or repair, adjust, or clean power-driven machines such as meat slicers and commercial mixers. Therefore, individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position.

Experience

• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
• Experience in food service is desired.
