Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly organized and welcoming Front Desk Attendant to join our team at the Culinary Institute of the South at the Technical College of the Low Country. This role involves front desk duties and assisting in the Clist Café.

Front Desk Duties
  1. Greet, welcome, and interact with students and guests; direct them to appropriate areas or offices; solve routine problems; serve as a resource for students.
  2. Receive and distribute shipments and mail; stock reception areas with supplies and brochures; reorder as needed.
  3. Create and file information for record keeping.
  4. Assist with campus events and tours, including outside normal hours.
Café Duties
  1. Take food and beverage orders, prepare them promptly and to standards.
  2. Set up the café, create menus, signage, and daily specials.
  3. Handle payments using proper cash procedures.
  4. Multi-task and serve multiple customers simultaneously.
  5. Dress code requirements will be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager's Certification (a plus)
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certificate (a plus)
  • Food and Beverage experience (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Assigned uniform requirements.
