Job Description:

Parsons is seeking Software Engineers for remote work and at our test facility in Summit Point, WV. Engineers will apply software engineering methods to design, develop, evaluate, integrate, and support IT solutions for Counter Unmanned Aerial System (CUAS) applications to detect, track, identify, and neutralize threats.

This full-time position offers benefits and a flexible schedule. The selected candidate will be responsible for software development, system testing with various data types, and supporting field testing at the Parsons Summit Point C-UAS COE. This is a mid-level role for a software engineer.

Team Responsibilities:

Work within a multidisciplinary team to integrate sensors and components into a Command & Control (C2) system for C-UAS, defending against drones. Develop software for ingesting and fusing sensor data (radar, EO/IR video, RF, etc.) and controlling sensors.

Responsibilities:
  1. Write, document, and test software applications interfacing with other systems, working independently and collaboratively.
  2. Develop backend services and front-end interfaces using existing frameworks and APIs.
  3. Apply advanced techniques such as machine learning to enhance drone detection and categorization.
  4. Create digital twins for sensors and targets to support modeling and simulation.
  5. Design and implement quality control and testing procedures.
  6. Configure, test, debug, and troubleshoot software products.
  7. Develop elements of a modular C2 system.
Required Skills:
  1. 3-8 years of software development experience.
  2. Proficiency in Java, C++, and Python for developing, testing, and debugging complex software.
  3. Experience with modular software design using patterns and frameworks.
  4. Familiarity with DevSecOps tools like Jira and Bitbucket (GIT).
  5. Experience developing interfaces to external systems via APIs such as Restful Services and WebSockets.
  6. Must be a US citizen.
  7. Position is remote with 10% travel required domestically and internationally.
Desired Skills:
  1. Current Secret Clearance (preferred).
  2. Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Ansys STK, machine learning frameworks, Ansible, sensor technologies (EO/IR, RF, Radar, Acoustic), and geospatial tools.
