UPMC’s Western Behavioral Health Community Treatment Team (CTT) provides intensive outpatient mental health services for individuals with serious mental illness. This role offers 24/7 coverage, collaboration with multiple agencies, and ongoing professional development.

Eligible for the Behavioral Health Fellows Program with benefits such as loan repayment or funded certificate options; requires strong crisis management, documentation, and evidence-based practice adherence in a team setting.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with three years clinical experience.
In lieu of this, Bachelor's degree with five years clinical experience with three years crisis experience will be considered.
Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience.
Work history that includes phone triage, as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments.

Responsibilities

Support WRAP plan, referral services, and follow-up.
Provide counseling and community/office services.
Advocate in legal proceedings and assist with basic needs.
Complete assessments and manage crises.
Coordinate cases for 10-15 individuals.
Participate in team meetings and collaborate with agencies.
Submit timely documentation and maintain records.
Maintain ACT standards and evidence-based practices.

Job description

UPMC’s Western Behavioral Health’s Community Treatment Team (CTT) provides intense outpatient mental health treatment services to consumers with serious and persistent mental illnesses who have not previously found success in traditional outpatient mental health services. Our clinicians provide community-based, evidence-driven care for individuals with severe mental illness, offering support through assessments, crisis response, and outpatient coordination. This 24/7 role is dynamic and rewarding, with opportunities for growth, teamwork, and professional development. As the first licensed ACT team in PA, our program is recognized as “Exemplary” in annual reviews.

This position is eligible for the Behavioral Health Fellows Program- an initiative sponsored by Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) in partnership with Community Care Behavioral Health and Jewish Healthcare Foundation. Designed to strengthen the County’s public behavioral health system, this program offers incredible benefits, including up to $45,000 in educational loan repayment (based on your degree level), or free access to an accredited professional certificate program, as well as paid time off for training and professional development as a part of a cohort group.

Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in home therapy preferred.
Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations.
Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on call responsibilities.
May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored or may transport medications when they transport patients.
Transportation of medication is limited from one department to another.
