Job summary

Lincolnway Special Recreation Association in New Lenox, IL invites an enthusiastic intern to help organize and implement recreation programs, with supervision guiding activities and participant interaction.

You will assist office staff, lead assigned programs, maintain records, dispense medication logs, and support accommodations for participants; a valid Illinois driver's license is required to drive agency vehicles, and work includes evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Pursuing continuing education in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation, or related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership skills.
• Experience in Therapeutic Recreation setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead recreation programs for LWSRA.
• Delivers quality customer service to participants and guardians.
• Maintains attendance records, participant records, and important reports.
• Dispenses medication and completes medication logs as needed.
• Provides guidance to part-time aides and volunteers during programs.
• Assists with special accommodations for participants including diaper and toileting needs.
