Job summary

HonorHealth in Phoenix is seeking a Database Administrator II to provide incident and request intake, maintenance, documentation and project task fulfillment across IT operations. The role requires CTMS Administrator experience and supports a hybrid schedule in the Network Support Services Building 1.

The DBA II will mentor other DBAs, participate in an on-call rotation for incidents, upgrades, patches, and project tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline - Preferred
• Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work‑related experience in Computer Science, Information Systems - Required
• 3 years experience in MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or Cache/Mumps; must be able to troubleshoot and tune; intermediate knowledge of Windows Server and Unix (Linux)
• 4 years of experience in Networking, Server Management and Storage management; must be able to troubleshoot and tune; intermediate knowledge of Windows Server and Unix (Linux)

Responsibilities

• Performs database maintenance, backup management, performance management, database documentation, database platform patching and updates by direction. Database Management System Setup. Assesses database management system and subsequent databases, performs basic troubleshooting and triage tasks, by direction performs corrective actions, executes scripts, and deploys database and system objects utilizing common industry best practices.
• Uses communication skills to listen to, identify & address customer needs while building a relationship and rapport with customers. Builds positive working relationships with team members, managers & all departments. Prioritizes and responds promptly based on severity levels to needs of the customer. Proactively or timely recognizes opportunities for service recovery and acts to resolve issues.
• Consistently lives out the commitment to the HonorHealth tenets of service excellence as illustrated in daily interactions with staff, faculty, physicians, patients, their families and others outside of HonorHealth: Customer Centered, Service Focused, Quality Driven, Resource Wise, Growth Oriented.

Job Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) II will provide support to include incident and request intake, documentation and resolution; problem analysis; installation and maintenance support; and project task fulfillment. In addition, the DBA II's provide guidance, mentoring and training for other DBAs and participate in a support on‑call rotation facilitating off‑hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.
