Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time Unit Coordinator to support the RN team with clerical and environmental duties. The role involves 0.6 FTE (24 hours/week), daytime shifts, and every other weekend, contributing to smooth patient flow and documentation.

The position requires a High School Diploma, CPR certification, and basic computer skills. Prior health care experience is preferred, with opportunities to learn on the job and grow within the unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Unit coordinator course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain patient charts and medical records.
• Operate communication systems (telephone, paging, pneumatic tube).
• Assist with greeting, admission, and transfer of patients.
• Maintain unit and office supplies and comply with regulatory standards.
• Act as a preceptor for orientation and training of unit coordinator staff.
• Coordinate transport of medications from Pharmacy to staff or storage areas.
• Initiate Code Blue/Medical Assist in emergencies and communicate details to staff.
