Job summary

Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, NY, is seeking an experienced CTICU RN to provide comprehensive care for post-open-heart surgery patients in a teaching hospital setting within Catholic Health Services. You will collaborate with physicians, RNs, and staff to optimize outcomes and patient satisfaction.

The role requires 1+ years in critical care, BSN (or enrolled in BSN program), NY RN license, and BLS/ACLS; CCRN is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years ICU/CCU or CTICU experience.
• BSN degree or enrolled in BSN program.
• New York RN license & registration.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recover, assess, monitor, and administer medications; document progress and manage overall CTICU patient care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Cross-train between CTICU and Intermediate Care Unit.
• Advocate for patients and families through safety interventions, education and empathy.
