Journey Community Schools in Memphis, TN is seeking an enthusiastic instructor to deliver high-quality instruction in a small-school setting where every student is known and valued. In this role you will empower students to take ownership of their learning and contribute to continuous improvement of our nationally recognized model.

You will plan engaging lessons aligned with Tennessee standards, assess progress, and partner with families and colleagues to ensure every student has the support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Licensure to teach Career and Technical Education (CTE) required.
• At least 1 year of teaching or teaching assistant/intern experience.
• Knowledge of State Standards and subject-specific frameworks.
• Knowledge of child cognitive development and learning styles.
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
• Commitment to reflecting and improving instructional practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish a culture of high expectations and shared belief in student success.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Tennessee State Standards and instructional guidelines.
• Assess students regularly and differentiate instruction based on data and needs.
• Communicate with students and families and involve families as partners in education.
• Identify student needs and collaborate with team to improve instructional practices.
• Participate in professional development with lead teachers, principals, and instructional coaches.
