Role Mission

IDEA Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers instruct 8th-12th grade students across various subjects. IDEA schools participate in Career and Technical Education through state-approved programs or courses in clusters such as Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, Architecture and Construction, Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications, Business, Marketing, and Finance, Education and Training, Energy, Health Science, Hospitality and Tourism, Human Services, Information Technology, Law and Public Service, Manufacturing, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics, and Career Development. All IDEA CTE teachers ensure students master academic and social skills necessary for college, embody IDEA’s values, set high achievement goals, create engaging learning environments, plan rigorous instruction, assess progress, analyze data, and continuously seek excellence.

What We Offer

Compensation

  • Starting salary for teachers with no experience is $56,500, with stipends ranging from $500 to $4,000 based on certifications and leadership roles. Opportunities for additional earnings include up to $10,000 through our Teacher Career Pathway.
  • Additional hourly pay is available for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.

Qualifications and Skills
  • High proficiency in content area, evidenced by certification, field of study, or work experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Experience in K-12 preferred; state certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, behavior management, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to various situations in the school environment.
Responsibilities
  • Implement state standards, curricula, and assessments for courses like AP Computer Science, Game Programming & Design, and Technology Applications.
  • Deliver relevant content, submit lesson plans biweekly, and assess student progress regularly.
  • Communicate with students and families weekly about progress.
  • Utilize technology effectively for instruction and communication.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment, foster school culture, and build trust with students and families.
  • Host tutoring sessions, participate in meetings, and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Work at least 40 hours weekly at school, with additional duties as needed.
