The Department of Corrections in Florida is seeking a Career and Technical Education Teacher (Workforce Readiness) to join the North West Florida Reception Center educational team. The role focuses on delivering CTE coursework to inmates and promoting rehabilitation through practical, skills-based learning.

You will plan and conduct classes, supervise students, ensure classroom safety, assess progress, and contribute to curriculum updates and staff development efforts.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or its equivalent and three years’ experience in the CTE subject area.
• Possession of current licensure or certification in the CTE being taught or a postsecondary certificate may substitute for up to one year of experience.
• Must hold the applicable subject area license or be willing to possess within 12 months of hire.
• Temporary Florida Department of Corrections Educator’s Certificate; five years to obtain a professional certificate.
• Official transcripts required if selected.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, develop, and conduct classes in assigned CTE subjects for inmates.
• Supervise inmates in class, take roll calls, and maintain attendance records.
• Ensure order, safety, and tool control in classroom and shop.
• Evaluate progress, administer grades and tests, and counsel students on progress.
• Participate in staff meetings, curriculum changes, and professional development.
