Job summary

The instructor will develop and deliver lessons, supervise workshop safety, assess student progress, and align curricula with state standards while preparing students for entry-level employment or further trades training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Possession of Colorado Vocational Education Teaching Credential in Carpentry or eligibility to obtain credential.
• Possess or be willing to obtain contractor's license.
• Fingerprint clearance required.
• Knowledge of carpentry theory and applications including woodworking, framing, finish work, cabinet layout, roofing, siding, doors/windows, and flooring.

Responsibilities

• Instruct residential carpentry classes from beginner to advanced level.
• Provide group and individual instruction with effective teaching strategies and materials.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and supervise students in the building.
• Submit attendance hours and progress, and advise on certificates of completion as applicable.
• Prepare students for entry-level employment or further training; attend staff meetings; liaise with industry and community partners.
