Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Must hold GaPSC certification in Computer Science FLD 789 or FLD 882 or pass the GACE CS assessment and induction requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in Computer Science aligned with state and local curriculum.
  • Offer content-based and project-based instruction through classroom, lab, and co-curricular activities.
  • Lead CTSO activities (e.g., FBLA, SkillsUSA, TSA) as a co-curricular instructional tool.
  • Manage and maintain program facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning and integrates technology.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and leadership.
  • Document attendance and ensure punctuality.
  • Engage in professional learning and district-level activities; participate in conferences.
  • Prepare to cover responsibilities during absences and support home-school communication.

Summary

Provides instruction in selected areas of Computer Science, (to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for a career and post-secondary opportunities

  • Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on state and local curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and co-curricular experiences
  • Provides community-based instruction and projects based on program guidelines and requirements
  • Provides leadership opportunities for students by establishing a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), i.e. FBLA, SkillsUSA or TSA as a co-curricular instructional tool within the classroom
  • Manages and maintains program facilities and equipment
  • Adheres to all state guidelines required for the implementation of a successful program
  • Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area
  • Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, school and county leadership
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
  • Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
  • Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
  • Attends school and District-level professional learning activities as directed
  • Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
  • Seeks and maintains professional learning opportunities through State endorsed professional organizations. i.e., ACTE, GACTE.
  • Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction
  • Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education

Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution accepted by GaPSC

Certification/Licensure

Must hold a GaPSC certification in Computer Science FLD [789] or FLD [882] or attain a passing score on the GACE Computer Science assessment, and meet the requirements for induction at GaPSC 505-2-.04; INDUCTION CERTIFICATE

Experience Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in the field of Special Needs required
