Job summary

Fulton County Schools is seeking a classroom teacher to provide instruction aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards. You will foster an active learning environment and apply performance-based assessment techniques while maintaining strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and a valid Georgia Teaching Certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required from regionally accredited university.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certification in applicable field or eligible to hold one.
  • 0-1 year of classroom experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction aligned to Georgia Performance Standards.
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and leadership.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and punctuality.
  • Follow all county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate professional ethics in all work-related activities.
  • Prepare to cover responsibilities during absences.
  • Engage with parents/guardians in the student’s educational program.
  • Facilitate home-school communication through conferences, calls, and written communications.
  • Integrate technology into classroom instruction.
  • Promote a positive staff morale by professional conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by administrator.

Job description

Summary

Provides instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards.

Essential Duties
  • Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County’s curriculum
  • Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area
  • Exhibits knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment
  • Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
  • Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
  • Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
  • Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
  • Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program
  • Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
  • Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction
  • Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university.

Certification/Licensure

Valid Georgia Teaching Certification in applicable field required, or must be eligible to hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate.

Experience Qualifications

0-1 year of classroom experience required.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands
