Job summary

Intuitive Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform imaging procedures and patient care in a fast-paced hybrid healthcare setting. The role requires CT imaging proficiency, ARRT certification, and Texas MRT registration, with strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and collaboration with the radiology team.

The CT Technologist will work within established policies, maintain equipment, and participate in ongoing skills training to ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • BLS certification within required timeframe.
  • High school diploma or GED and additional Tech school or college coursework in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current ARRT certification and MRT registration with Texas Medical Board.
  • Adequate CT experience and proven competence.
  • Completed hospital-provided laboratory/testing course and competency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging procedures and related patient care according to regulations and policies.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and ensure safety and cleanliness of radiology suite.
  • Prepare and position patients for CT scans; verify orders and document results.
  • Train new staff on equipment use, safety policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and proper documentation of exams.

Job Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for safely and proficiently performing laboratory, general radiography, and computerized tomography imaging procedures and related patient care according to government regulations, physician orders, policies, and procedures of the Imaging Department and the facility.

  • Responsible for conducting regular inventory and ensuring the facilities maintain proper levels of supplies through cooperation with the Facility Radiology Leader.
  • Conduct all radiology studies in accordance with the law and company policy.
  • Conduct proper documentation and consenting per protocol.
  • Participate in any and all certifications of the facility.
  • Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that facilities are clean, well-maintained, and function in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Help train all new staff to use the equipment, follow policy and procedures, know their duties, and become familiar with the work environment.
  • Always keep the radiology suite clean at all times.
  • Review and uphold lab policies and procedures while assisting in the lab.
  • Assist in patient care to the extent that training and education allow. This may include obtaining vital signs, bringing patients back, swabbing patients, helping run lab results, starting IV’s, and helping set up for procedures or other duties not usually performed by radiology technologists but that are within their scope of practice.
  • Administer and document contrast material.
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Send images to the Radiologist for interpretation/reading.
  • Accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions
  • Prepare and operate CT scan equipment.
  • Ability to position the patient to capture appropriate images.
  • 100% attendance at mandatory skills training yearly.
  • Maintain all required professional certifications and licenses. Participate in any and all certifications of the facility.
  • Maintain CEU's
  • Complete yearly assigned education on time
  • Collaborate with health team members to ensure the patient's well-being as evidenced by staff/client feedback. Support the efforts of team members
  • Perform Daily QA and document limits; if outside of the limits, inform the Radiology Leader.
  • Checking dose output on all CT exams performed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching as well as lifting and supporting patients.
  • This job operates in a healthcare setting. CT Technologists must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, blood and blood-borne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases, and dusts. This position does require working near moving mechanical parts and being exposed to toxic or caustic materials. This position would require moderate noise from phones, computers, printers, and medical equipment. The position does require standing, walking, sitting, the use of hands, and reaching. The position may also require climbing, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on‑call).

Qualifications
  • BLS required within first 30 days of employment
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two-year college or technical school.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • A graduate of a 2-year accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) required.
  • Must have and maintain M.R.T. registration with the Texas Medical Board.
  • Must have adequate CT experience and proven competence as determined by the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Completed company company‑provided laboratory testing course and competency.
