The CT Technologist is responsible for scanning patients, assisting other departments throughout the organization learning about CT, cross training staff members from within Medical Imaging, and to promote CT services of Oswego Health.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The expectations of the department are following the protocols that are in place as well as administering contrast material, explaining the procedure and answering any and all questions or concerns of the patient. Operates the CT and X-ray equipment by setting controls and making any required adjustments to procure required images. Solves problems as they arise during patient exams. Performs and positions the patients for CT and X-ray exams according to the department's standard procedures. Practices radiation safety to both the patient and co-workers. Performs QA and other job-related duties such as cleaning and re-stocking of the area.

Required Skills/Abilities (Unit Specific):

  • Follows all office policies/procedure, HIPAA, ACR and NYS DOH requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Radiology operating systems such as PACS, EMR, RIS.
  • Reports any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate person.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree in Medical Radiography or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • NYS License and Registration (ARRT) required or eligible.
  • Certificate of Contrast Injections or eligible.
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Position requires attendance, as scheduled, to ensure requirements are met.
  • Complies with DOH requirements for annual health assessments and required immunizations.

Pay Range:$34.00-$36.05/hr

Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
