Schedule: 24 hours/week

Shift: 2 x 12 hour night shifts, 7pm-7am

Must be comfortable performing both CT and X-Ray duties

The community you’ll be caring for:

Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units. It will feature:

• 244,000 square feet
• Capacity for 98 beds (44 on opening and 54 for future expansion)
• Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two for future dates)

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs CAT Scan procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs various technical procedures requiring independent judgment to acquire images for diagnosis. Keeps room clean and stocked with supplies.

• Maintains all essential job functions of the CT Technologist
• Reviews patient requisitions and charts before exams
• Administers contrast material as directed by Radiologist
• Starts IVs on outpatients requiring IV contrast
• Draws labs for Creatine to expedite patient care
• Communicates with nurses and physicians to expedite care
• Locates orders, labs, allergies, and resources in Power Chart
• Sends images to VRC and scans reports into PACS
• Gives oral contrast to patients prior to exams
• Participates in training new CT techs
• Operates Cerner System, troubleshoots, and corrects order issues
• Completes and charges exams correctly
• Sends exams to PACS and handles PACS issues
• Adheres to radiation safety standards
• Maintains equipment and reports malfunctions
• Follows hospital policies and standards of behavior
• Incorporates patient, physician, and organizational needs into decision-making
• Follows the AIDET model for patient interaction
• Maintains ethical conduct and cooperates with personnel
• Engages in personal and professional development and continuing education
• Maintains professional appearance
• Attends at least 50% of department meetings
• Provides patient transportation when needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
